We are very thankful for the opportunity the Lord has given the Unleashed Ministry to reach many men with the Gospel. It is our desire that every man visiting our site will be encouraged and strengthened by the various articles, as each one is directed at increasing our faith in Christ. As men, we CAN become the Godly man Jesus Christ wants us to be, but we must fully accept our role in Christ. God is always at work around us and in our lives. It is our fully accepting the understanding that we are nothing without Jesus Christ and embracing a lifestyle that it’s through His strength and grace that we exist and minister.
Let me ask you a question, “Who is the most Godly man in your life?”
Do you have a fellow brother in Christ that would immediately enter your mind or do you need time to mull over the question for a few minutes? Is it a family member, a close friend or acquaintance, a pastor, a Sunday school teacher, a fellow Christian brother at church or a coworker at your workplace? This is a question that most likely will not be asked very often, but it does require a specific answer. And realistically, the answer probably has influenced us and helped to mold us or is continuing to mold and influence us into who we are as a Christian man.
Now let me ask another very important question.
What if this same question was presented to people in your realm of contact or influence? Would your name be the first to come to their mind?
That’s a very tough question to ask ourselves, but as Christian men, our faith in the Lord should be our top priority. Our daily walk with the Lord is being examined and monitored by another person and I am sure that as you read the above question you had the same reaction as I did. The Holy Spirit allowed my life to flash before my eyes and there were some moments in my life that I wasn’t very Godly! Although we may be under another person's watchful eye, - We should not live our lives for others, but live our life for Christ! Our life should be a reflection of Him and Him alone! A Godly and righteous life will allow the Lord's spirit to shine through us.
How do you become the reflection of Christ? As men, we would like to convince ourselves that we are mighty warriors and there are no cracks in our armor, no weaknesses or failures, but to be Godly men we have to be truthful. Being truthful with the Lord and ourselves is the only way we can grow in our daily walk with Christ. And when we get truthful with the Lord and ourselves, the Holy Spirit will reveal to us many resources to strengthen, encourage, and give us understanding. Being truthful with the Lord will lead us into a spirit of humility before the Lord and a walk of serving Him as our Lord and Saviour.
The MIB Unleashed in Christ website is for that purpose. Through the various pages and writers on the site, It is our prayer to see Christian men grow in character, obedience and faith as Godly Husbands, Fathers, Grandfathers, Friends and Servants of the Lord! It is our prayer that we all become the Godly men the Lord created us to be. I pray we will all ask the Lord for the wisdom needed in the days ahead.
One of the most enlightening verses we recently studied –
1 Chronicles12:32 And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.
The part of the verse weighing heavy on my heart is “which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do”. We should be that man! We should pray the Lord gives us wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and discernment each day as His servant and have Godly understanding to know what is best for ourselves, our families and our church according to God’s will. Pray for a Christian world view and be ready to give a scriptural answer if called upon to defend God's Word in today's society.
Men, I encourage you to first get an accountability partner. Pray about who you want to help you to remain faithful in your walk with Christ and will actually speak the truth and not be an enabler. Second, the both of you begin a Bible study together and pray the Lord reveal His will for both your lives. As you continue to ask the Lord to see the world through His eyes and as you grow in your walk, take opportunity to give Him praise in all things! As Godly men, may we make a difference in the people’s lives that God has placed within our influence!
